LANCASTER, Pa. - The 13th-ranked Dickinson field hockey team dropped their second Centennial Conference game of the season on Saturday afternoon falling by a score of 4-0 to the 17th-ranked Franklin and Marshall College Diplomats at Tylus Field. Dickinson goalie
Taylor Morrow did her best to keep her side in the game all day long recording 11 stops on the day.
First Quarter
- Dickinson's Gillian Rosenstock attempted the first shot of the quarter at 1:24, but it was blocked by Franklin & Marshall's defense.
- At 4:10, Franklin & Marshall's Hannah Fitzgerald's shot was saved by Dickinson's goalie, Morrow.
- Dickinson's Nicole Uebele took consecutive shots at 11:38 and 11:43, both saved by Franklin & Marshall's goalie, Meghan Dole.
- Dickinson earned a series of penalty corners late in the quarter, but the resulting shot by Sophia Pereira at 14:20, was blocked down by the defense.
Second Quarter
- Caitlin Hoover scored the opening goal for Franklin & Marshall at 15:45, assisted by Lofgren.
- Three minutes later Morrow made a key save on a shot by Fitzgerald to keep it just at 1-0.
- Alexandra Hockwitt and Megan McClure tallied shots a minute apart, but Dole was there to make one stop while the other offering trickled wide.
- A defensive save by Caroline Kirkpatrick denied Hoover a second goal following a penalty corner at 24:43.
- With one second remaining F&M tried to add one more to the total, fortunately, the DC defense was there to knock it down ending the period.
Third Quarter
- Franklin & Marshall's Megan Dadio initiated a penalty corner at 39:07, resulting in two shots both of which saved by Morrow.
- However, with 39:16 gone in the frame a penalty stroke given to the home side set the stage for Hoover to notch her second of the contest.
- Rosenstock earned a penalty corner at 42:31, but Uebele's subsequent shot was blocked by the backline.
- Morrow continued to be active in goal, making three more saves prior to the end of the frame to keep it at just 2-0 heading to the fourth.
Fourth Quarter
- Franklin & Marshall extended their lead a little over five minutes into the period with Molly Donadoni scoring, while Lofgren grabbed her second assist.Â
- Fitzgerald added to the scoreboard with a marker two minutes later, thanks to a feed by Dadio.
- Morrow recorded crucial saves against multiple Franklin & Marshall shots, including attempts by Keira Boensch and Brianna Coolican to try and keep the Red and White alive.
- Dickinson earned a penalty corner at 54:10, leading to a shot by Erin Liggio that was once again blocked by the home defense allowing the Diplomats to see out the 4-0 win.
