CARLISLE, Pa. - The eighth-ranked Dickinson men's soccer team got goals from senior duo
Ethan Jarden and
Saul Iwowo within the first 14 minutes, while
Sachil Kenkre joined Jarden on the scoresheet in the second period en route to a 4-0 Centennial Conference win over the visiting Franklin & Marshall College at Miller Memorial Field on Saturday afternoon.
First Half
- It was actually the visitors that were on the attack early as both Jack Borden and Wes Wise were denied by DC keeper Nick Potter within the first two minutes.
- However, it would be the Red and White that would make their first shot of the day count when Nicholas Dwamena setup Jarden for his first of the day at the 3:42 mark.
- Just a few minutes later the home side tried to add to their lead, but Jarden was shutdown by Diego Moreno.
- The Devils did indeed make it 2-0 in the 14th minute with Iwowo finishing off a nice dish from Jarden.
- Each side only recorded one more chance the rest of the period as Jeremy Sallade was stopped by Moreno and Zach Parpel pinged the post to leave the score 2-0 at the break.
Second Half
- The rest seemed to do the Diplomats some good as Thomas Kaplan and Parpel both missed over the top of the net within the opening ten minutes.
- Dickinson would make sure they made the visitors pay for their missed chances when Dwamena charged down the right side and played a lovely cross to Jarden extending the margin to 3-0 with a half-hour left.
- The following ten minutes went by without either team recording a shot until Reagan Pelletier was turned aside by Potter in the 72nd.
- Chances from Parker Kiey and Jarden went awry over the next couple of minutes, before Kenkre laid into a long-range effort from outside the box that sailed out of the reach of new keeper Sam Sellitti for a 4-0 advantage seven minutes from time.
- F&M tried to break the cleansheet inside the final five minutes, but both attempts for Ethan Howard went wide as the match came to an end.
