LANCASTER, Pa. - The Dickinson women's soccer team needed a second-half marker from
Ava Prisco to erase a 1-0 halftime deficit and secure a point in the Centennial Conference standings with a 1-1 draw against Franklin & Marshall College at Tylus Field on Saturday afternoon.
First Half
- The first 15 minutes was all home team as they recorded five shots forcing one stop from DC keeper Pico Gray.
- F&M would eventually find the opening goal when Zoe Warne linked up with Emerson McDonald for the finish at the 16:43 mark.
- Two minutes later the Red and White notched their opening shot of the match as a corner swung in by Joelle Ma found Lila Brown who sent her chance over the top of the net.
- The Diplomats tallied the only other two shots of the period, but each of them rolled wide of goal to end the half at 1-0.
Second Half
- Dickinson needed just over a minute to call upon F&M keeper Lucy Fleming as she turned away Ma.
- The two sides traded the next four shots with Bridget Merkel and Prisco missing the mark, while Katherine Finnerty and McDonald forced Gray into one more save with 58 minutes gone.
- With the match just entering the 61st minute, the Devils would find their equalizer when Isabelle Bariso connected with Prisco for the finish past Fleming.
- Three minutes later the visitors tried to takee the lead, but Anna Bitsko had her chance blocked down by the defense.
- The Diplomats then regrouped and went on the attack recording five of the next six shots, but only tasking Gray into making one save as the match went to the final ten minutes.
- F&M thought they had the lead when Warne had a shot get by Gray, fortunately, for DC the ball rang off the post to keep it 1-1.Â
- At the other end, Merkel was stopped by Fleming and Bariso hit one over the top of the net in the last minute to end the match.
