CARLISLE, Pa. - The third seed Dickinson women's soccer team got goals from four different players, including a brace from
Lila Brown in a two-minute span to cruise to a 5-0 victory over sixth seed Washington College on Tuesday night in the first round of the Centennial Conference Tournament at Miller Memorial Field.
First Round
- Dickinson was on the attack early and often as Isabelle Bariso, Anna Bitsko and Ava Prisco recorded shots within the opening dozen minutes tasking keeper Olivia Allen into making one stop.
- In the 15th minute, the Red and White took a 1-0 lead when a long ball played over the top dropped to Prisco who danced through multiple defenders before slotting a shot past Allen.
- A minute later Maddie St. Amand was shutdown by Allen. However, Joelle Ma would make it 2-0 by scoring directly on a free kick from about 40 yards out.
- Washington then found their offensive footing as the duo of Lily Barnum and Vanessa Shay tested Pico Gray, but she was up to task.
- Each team tallied three shots over the final 15 minutes forcing one save from each keeper to keep the score at 2-0 going to the break.
Second Half
- The Shorewomen used the first 15 minutes to record four shots, but none of them bothered Gray.
- Following a stop by Gray against Grace Morris, the Devils earned a corner kick at the other end of the pitch. That set the stage for a 3-0 lead as Ma sent the ball to Brown for the finish.Â
- Then just over a minute later, the same duo gave it the old "rise and repeat" with Ma putting the ball on the head of Brown who nodded it past Allen pushing the gap to 4-0 with 71:35 gone.
- Dickinson continued to pile on the attack with Kaitlyn Arnold, Emma Barrabee and Maddie Kraft-Williams combined for five shots tasking new keeper Hailey Sharpe into two saves as the match entered the final ten minutes.
- Katey Van Kirk then took over for Gray between the sticks for the Devils and she watched her side extend the margin to 5-0 when Ellie Nordwind pushed home a feed from Madison Mobray.
- Van Kirk notched one stop of her own with five minutes left shutting down Heidi Tine to preserve the 5-0 clean sheet.
