CARLISLE, Pa. - The top-seeded Dickinson men's soccer team scored three times in the opening 45 minutes to build up a 3-0 halftime lead and never looked back as the Red and White will advance to Sunday's Centennial Conference Final thanks to a 3-0 win over the sixth seed Muhlenberg College at Miller Memorial Field on Friday night.
First Half
- Dickinson needed just under four minutes to take a 1-0 lead as a corner kick played in from the right by Jeremy Sallade found the head of a Muhlenberg defender who unfortunately nodded the ball past keeper Taye Edwards for the own goal.
- The Mules used the ensuing ten minutes to try and tie the match up as the trio of Jack Scuro, Thomas Shreiber and Sebastian Tis forced one stop out of Devils keeper Nick Potter.
- Dickinson would then punish the visitors for not cashing in on their opportunities as a long throw-in by Sallade deflected off the head of Luke Finkielstein past Edwards for a 2-0 edge in the 16th minute.
- Both Nicholas Dwamena and Sallade tried to add onto the advantage, but neither could solve Edwards in minutes 20 and 29 respectively.
- However, the Red and White did make it 3-0 with 32:07 gone when Ethan Jarden forced a pass through the Muhlenberg defense to Saul Iwowo who jabbed he ball beyond the reach of Edwards.
- Roan Harrington and Timi Omoniwa had chances to add more to the lead heading into the break unfortunately neither could capitalize as the match went to the break.
Second Half
- Within the opening ten minutes the visitors got two attempts from Tis, but neither tested Potter while at the other end Edwards had to keep an offering off the boot of Dwamena out of the net.
- Rowan Jensen, Jackson Wolf and Iwowo each posted a shot during the ensuing 15 minutes forcing one more stop out of Edwards.
- Potter had to make his final save of the match in the 76th denying Shreiber. Darian Crim and Sachil Kenkre each tallied one more shot however they could not add on as the match came to an end.
