LANCASTER, Pa. - The Dickinson College men's track and field team won six events on the day and collected multiple Top-10 results on Saturday afternoon during their time at the Blue-White Invite hosted by Franklin and Marshall College.
Sprints
Jason Hollinger finished off the Top-10 for the 60m by posting a time of 7.29, followed by
William O'Connor in 17th (7.39) and
Tim Gross grabbing 40th (7.86). With hurdles placed at the same distance
Josh Penny clocked in at 10.57 for 17th.
The Red and White would put two athletes on the podium during the 200m as
Franklyn Akabi-During won the race with a 22.47, while
Darian Crim hit the stripe at 23.16 for third. O'Connor occupied 14th thanks to a 23.93.
Akabi-During collected his second victory of the day in the 300m besting the with a time of 35.51.
A trio Devils earned Top-10 slots for the 400m with
Trevor Richwine taking the spot at 50.14, followed by
James Masterson and
Ian Gormley seizing fourth (52.43) and eighth (53.34) respectively.
Jeremy Sallade nabbed 12th (53.78) and
Evan Feldman secured 19th with a 54.47. The group of
Amos Liles (21st - 54.73),
Matthew Gareau (26th - 55.39),
Benjamin Dench (33rd - 56.94),
Sean Harris (35th - 57.46) and Gross (36th - 57.58) all competed in the event as well.
Richwine won his second race of the by topping the field for the 500m crossing the line in 1:04.58. He was joined in the Top-10 by Gormley in eighth (1:09.71). Dench locked up 17th by finishing in 1:14.13.
Distance
The Red and White collected seventh and eighth during the 800m thanks to Crim (2:01.38) and Sallade (2:01.84). The duo of Masterson and
Atticus Fair landed within the Top-20 at 13th (2:03.07) and 16th (2:03.92) respectively. Liles (26th - 2:06.96),
Travis Knaggs (31st - 2:10.44), Gareau (32nd - 2:10.56), Feldman (2:10.76),
Jake Cruikshank (38th - 2:12.75), Eddie Liszka (39th - 2:13.70),
Max Collins (46th - 2:17.37), Harris (49th - 2:20.14) and
Jack Solovey (53rd - 2:22.91) were all involved as well.
Dickinson sent another large group out to compete in the mile run as Caldwell was the highest placing member of the Red and White in second at 4:28.02. He was joined in the Top-10 by
Alex Hansen (5th - 4:30.79),
Avi Ghorai (6th - 4:31.70) and Fair (7th - 4:32.44). Liska (25th - 4:47.57),
Matthew Colden (32nd - 4:50.96),
Tyler Erdmann (33rd - 4:51.70),
William Kane (34th - 4:52.29), Cruikshank (35th - 4:52.52), Collins (48th - 5:06.20) and Solovey (56th - 5:20.89) rounded out the Devils on the track.
The Devils filled the podium for the 3000m as Caldwell (8:49.10),
Benjamin Moseman (8:49.64) and
Nolan Meincke (8:52.44) finished one through three.
Mason Macek just missed the Top-5 nabbing sixth with a 8:57.16. The duo of Hansen and Ghorai claimed 15th (9:29.97) and 20th (9:43.11) respectively, while Kane took up 23rd at 9:46.76.
Joel Yetzbacher was the only Devil to compete in the 5000m landing in 23rd with a time of 17:51.71.
Relays
The team of Liles, Meincke, Richwine and Sallade would win the 4x400m with a 3:30.53, while
Brock Overlander, Fair, Feldman and Macek nabbed 13th (3:50.40).
Field
At the jump pit, Hollinger finished fifth in the long jump with a 5.95m.
Greenley claimed 16th during the pole vault after clearing 2.74m.
In the field,
Oliver Stroka grabbed 38th for the shot put with a throw of 10.07m, before taking fourth in the weight throw by dropping in at 14.50m.
Next on the Track
The Red Devils return to action next Saturday when they head to Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania to compete in the Susquehanna University Invite starting at 10am.
