LANCASTER, Pa. – The Dickinson women's squash team improved to 10-10 on the season and finish 5th place in the MASC Championships, with an impressive 9-0 victory over the Diplomats of Franklin and Marshall College.
Inside the Match
A promising sign for the 19th ranked Red Devils claiming every match of the tie, heading into the crunch time of the season. Sophomore Anne Leakey continues her great form, claiming the top flight in three games. Katie Herring and Gabi El-Masry both needed extra games to claim the second and third flights. Herring dropped the first game, but turned up in the next three, winning easily from there. El-Masry had a massive battle, going all the way to the fifth game, where she took the point for the red and white 11-7. Victoria Savelius went down early in the fifth flight, dropping the first two games, but she continued to fight and won three straight games to triumph for the Devils. Sophomore Thea Hegde dropped the third game after going up by two and closed out the match with an 11-4 fourth game. Anna O'Connor, Cate Moll and Charlotte Derdeyn all won their matches in three games. The Red Devils claimed the ninth flight by default as the diplomats were unable to field a ninth player.
