LANCASTER, Pa. - The Dickinson women's indoor track and field team collected multiple Top-10 finishes, including quite a few podium places on Sunday during day two of the Centennial Conference Championships hosted by Franklin & Marshall College. Thanks to the strong overall effort put forth by the team the Red and White were able to take second-place in the team standings.
Sprints
Erin Olsavsky nabbed one of the podiums for the Devils by taking third in the 60m with a time of 7.93. When the hurdles were laid out on the track for that distance
Annie Leder grabbed fourth at 9.38, while
Leah Biwott crossed in 9.49 for sixth.
Two members earned Top-10 results during the 200m as Olsavsky claimed second thanks to a 25.85, followed by
Abbe Kitchin in tenth at 26.89.
Emily Chaine and
Maddie Kyle finished in 19th (27.67) and 23rd (28.29) respectively.
Marley Kurey took third in the 400m with a time of 59.79. She was joined in the Top-10 by
Maddie Brown in fifth (1:00.41) and Kitchin at 1:01.72 for eighth.
Lily Swain,
Lily Cusa and
Emma Dice also competed landing in 12th (1:03.27), 17th (1:05.07) and 22nd (1:09.20).
Distance
Three Dickinson athletes took to the track for the mile run with
Amiyah Priebe earning the best finish for the group in 15th (5:17.53), followed by
Sophia Kovalski (20th - 5:33.30) and
Breanna Franchak (22nd - 5:50.05).
The duo of
Myra Naqvi and
Elizabeth Barbash earned Top-10 finishes in the 3000m occupying fouth (10:28.70) and sixth (10:34.98). The trio of
Maddie Garber,
Meghan Higgins-Haas and
Abby Duffy took up 16th (10:54.89), 21st (11:11.47) and 24th (11:23.39).
Relays
The Red and White closed out the relays by claiming second in the 4x400m as the team of Brown, Kitchin, Kurey and Swain hit the line in 4:06.66.
Field
The Devils collected another Top-10 result during the shot put as
Damien Labrada grabbed eighth with a toss of 11.27m, while
Jenna Deep nabbed 18th thanks to a mark of 9.71m.
Leder picked up another podium for the Red and White in the long jump taking second at 5.42m, followed by Biwott in sixth (5.00m) and Kyle in 26th (4.36m).
Team Standings
Johns Hopkins claimed their 14th-straight team title with 299.5 points, followed by the RED DEVILS (104), Swarthmore (73), Ursinus (55), Gettysburg (51), Franklin & Marshall (44.5), Haverford and Muhlenberg (40), Bryn Mawr (25) and McDaniel (9).
