Welcome to the Devils Den
From the Mind of Coach Sohns
- Thoughts on Schedule
- We challenge ourselves during our non-conference games to better prepare us for Centennial Conference play. Two of eight teams from our non-conference schedule are nationally ranked in the NFHCA Division III preseason poll. It will be these matchups where we will have the ability to try and make in-game adjustments and utilize different rotations to get us ready for the gauntlet of the conference season.
- What have you seen in the preseason that has you excited about the season?
- It has been very exciting and a great learning experience for our team. They have been getting used to new terminology, plays and lingo and taken it all in stride. We have had good practices and a competitive scrimmage that has us ready and motivated for Friday's opener.
- How have your first-years acclimated to the college game so far?
- Really pleased with the assimilation of our first-years into this team. They are melding well with our returning group asking questions, bringing new skills and characteristics to the identity of our team which is really exciting to see. They will be an impactful group for sure and will only get better as the season goes on.
- What to expect from your team?
- I want our fans and alumni to be proud of this team each and every time we step out onto the pitch. I want everyone to see a composed and calm team with good passing and that plays a solid possession based style of field hockey. We are going to be a team that works for each other and every end of the field each game.
