Summer Check-In

Where are you working/interning this summer? Company and Location:

I’m interning at pureIntegration, a tech consulting firm based in Reston, VA.

Please describe your day-to-day responsibilities in this position:

As a Product Data Analyst, I’ve been working on custom reporting and insights for the Bullseye platform. I’m part of a project that develops tailored mapping solutions for clients in the ad tech media space. On a daily basis, I clean data, gather insights and statistics, and build data-driven stories through Power BI visualizations.

What made this experience appealing to you?

Working at a tech consulting firm has given me firsthand exposure to how data analytics is used in real-world, client-facing settings. It also introduced me to the world of consulting, which I’ve really enjoyed. A big reason why this internship has been so meaningful is because I’ve had the chance to work under my mentor, Nick Hunter ’98. He’s opened doors for me to connect with industry leaders who have now become mentors as well.

How does this experience relate to your career or life aspirations? What are you looking to personally get out of it?

This internship has solidified my interest in pursuing a career in data analytics, especially on the product side within tech. It’s helped me see how important it is to not just analyze data, but to clearly communicate information and always stay focused on solving the business problem. I’ve learned how to approach projects with both technical skills and strategic thinking, something I know will shape my career going forward.

How has your athletics career prepared you for this role?

Being a student-athlete taught me how to manage my time, communicate clearly, and show up with passion. One thing I realized early on in this internship is that to do meaningful work, you have to be committed to your product and care about your impact, similar to how I approach my sport. That drive and discipline have really carried over from the field to the workplace.

What are you looking forward to for this upcoming year for your sport?

I’m just excited to have fun and play the sport I love with an amazing group of girls. There’s a lot of new energy on the team this year, and I’m ready to embrace the change and lead by example as a senior. It’s my last season, so I’m looking forward to soaking it all in.

Is there anything else you are looking forward to this summer outside of this experience?

Even though my internship is wrapping up, I’ve made it a goal to explore as many museums in D.C. as I can. I’ve already been to eight, but I still have a few on my list (including the National Archives). So far, my favorites have been the National Gallery and the Air and Space Museum. I’m hoping to fit in a few more before heading back to school!
