Five Different Devils Score in Non-Conference Win Over Golden Wolves

CARLISLE, Pa. - The 11th-ranked Dickinson men's soccer team tallied 16 shots in the first half and scored four times thanks to four different goal scorers en rout to a dominant 5-1 non-conference victory over the visiting Alvernia University at Miller Memorial Field on Saturday afternoon.

First Half
  • The opening shot of the match came just over two minutes in as Timi Omoniwa had his attempt knocked down by the defense.
  • Dickinson then just kept on firing with chances coming from Nicholas Dwamena, Westin Fryberger and Luke Finkielstein, before the Red and White finally dented Evan Solley in the 17th with a finish from Ethan Jarden off the Dwamena assist.
  • Solley continued to be under duress as he had to make four saves against the duo of Saul Iwowo and Fryberger.
  • Then with 27:04 gone the Devils went up 2-0 on an unassisted strike by Fryberger.
  • Dickinson had the lead extended to 4-0 prior to halftime on goals from Roan Harrington (37:50) and Andrew Schreiner (39:56).
  • Daniel Argueta Rosales attempted to push the gap to five just before halftime, but his attempt sailed over the net.
Second Half
  • After not being busy at all in the first half between the pipes Nick Potter was replaced by Gavin Marr and he immediately fell under some pressure as Christopher Hille and Connor Kraycik posted the first two shots for the visitors tasking Marr with making one save.
  • Dickinson then returned to their attacking ways with Darian Crim, Omoniwa and Schreiner each recording a shot, unfortunately, none of them test Solley as the match entered the final 20 minutes.
  • The visitors broke the combined cleansheet during the 78th minute with Eli Klinger cashing in past Marr unassisted.
  • However, the Red and White would get the last laugh thanks to Nicky Williams finding the back of the net with 83:59 gone to set the 5-1 final scoreline.
