WASHINGTON - The Dickinson volleyball team ran their win streak to four straight and seven of their last eight by picking up a pair of wins on Saturday afternoon at a tri-match hosted by Catholic University inside the DuFour Center. First, the Red and White defeated Mount Aloysius College by a score of 3-0, before besting the host Cardinals 3-1.
Match One - DEVILS 3, Mounties 0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-23)
Set One
- It was Mount Aloysius who got out to a fast start as Aviana Chilmaza, Poliana Lazarini, Molly Richards and Kaylee Smith gave the Mounties a 9-4 edge.
- A combo block by Lora Flynn and Eliette Whittaker along with two Mallie Thomas kills cut it down to 9-7.
- Four of the next six went the way of MAC to go ahead 14-9, but kills for Avery Butcher, Jessica Currie, Emery Fishbach, Amelia Kim and Whittaker contributed to a 12-2 DC romp to take a 22-16 advantage.
- A DC miscue and Richards kill pushed to within 23-18, before back-to-back Thomas scores took it 25-18.
Set Two
- The teams traded the opening six points, prior to points for Butcher, Fishbach, Kim and Thomas made it 11-7 DC.
- Mackenzie Barr and Richards helped MAC grab five of the next six to draw even 12-12.
- For the second straight set the Devils used a large run to take command as kills for Butcher, Fishbach, Kim, Thomas and Whittaker led to an 11-3 run to make it 23-15 Devils.
- A score for Kaprice Cavalet stalled the charge for a second, but a bad set by MAC and a Thomas kill capped it off 25-16.
Set Three
- Dickinson began the frame with a bang as aces for Katie Arcara and Camille Dofiles along with kills from Currie, Fishbach, Flynn and Whittaker gave DC an 11-4 advantage.
- MAC clawed back to within 13-8 on a kill by Barr. However, Fishbach, Kim and Thomas ran off five in a row to make it 18-8.
- Barr and Richards responded with five straight (18-13), before the quartet of Butcher, Currie, Dofiles and Kim put the Devils on the verge of the match at 24-17.
- The Mounties did not go away though as Barr, Lazarini, Richards and Smith all put home kills to trim the gap to just one 24-23. Unfortunately for MAC a bad serve by Barr ended the match at 25-23.

Set One
- Things were tight early as kills for Fishbach, Kim, Thomas and Whittaker had the score locked at 6-6.
- Dickinson then took five of the next seven thanks to scores by Flynn, Kim and Thomas (11-8).
- The sides shared the following eight points with Currie and Dofiles tallying for DC, while Erin Faughnan and Vivian O'Brien found the scoresheet for the Cardinals (15-12).
- Kills put down by Thomas and Kim bookended a 6-1 run to take a 21-13 advantage.
- After an 8-1 flight by the Cardinals cut the deficit to just one 22-21, Flynn and Whittaker each recorded a kill before combining for a block to end the set (25-22).
Set Two
- Scores for Flynn, Thomas and Whittaker had DC ahead 5-4 at the start of the frame, but a 10-4 spurt from the hosts thanks in part to kills by Juliette Cummings, Alejandra Garcia, Caroline Welsh, Faughnan and O'Brien gave CU the 14-9 edge.
- As they have done all year the Red and White battled back with kills put away by Currie, Kim and Whittaker tied the score at 15-15.
- Anna Maria Carella, Cummings, O'Brien, Raab and Welsh would mount a 10-5 push the rest of the way for a 25-20 win.
Set Three
- The opening ten points of the set were split between the sides with DC kills coming from Kim, Thomas and Whittaker (5-5).
- Things continued to be nip and tuck as scores for Amanda Palo, Currie, Flynn, Thomas and Whittaker brought the Red and White to the front at 15-13.
- Catholic did not go away though as three straight kills for Raab and an ace by Carella made it 17-15 home team.
- Once again Dickinson rallied the troops to get back into things as kills put down by Fishbach, Flynn and Thomas aided a 6-3 charge to take a slim 21-20 edge.
- A pair of Kate Berra aces and kill for O'Brien brought it to 23-21 CU, but Butcher, Flynn, Kim and Whittaker organized a 6-2 run to wrap the frame up at 27-25.
Set Four
- It was all Dickinson to start things off as points for Butcher, Currie, Fishbach, Kim and Thomas made it 14-5.
- A kill for Cummings helped Catholic to knock three off the margin (14-8), before two Thomas kills, an ace for Palo and combo block by Fishbach and Flynn extended the lead back to double-digits (20-9).
- Mariana Roman Cruz, Carella and Cummings tried to give the home side some life as they pulled within 24-15, but the match would end on the ensuing point when Fishbach pounded home the winning kill (25-15).
