Devils Scared Off by Green Terror in Conference Play

CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson men's basketball team opened up their Centennial Conference home slate on Wednesday night with a visit from McDaniel College. Unfortunately, for the Red and White the Green Terror put four in double-figures and collected 20 points off of 17 home giveaways en route to a 66-49 win inside the Kline Center.

First Half
  • Things began pretty good for DC as jumpers for Jacob Pichay and a long-range effort from Isaiah Edmond made it 7-4 with three minutes gone.
  • The duo of Bruce Black and David Kearney pushed the guests on top 8-7, before three points each by Joey Dopirak and Pichay gave the Devils the lead back at 13-8.
  • McDaniel then responded in a big way galloping out to a 25-17 advantage thanks to a 17-4 outburst led by Dallas George and Ashenafi Stuart as Dane Moran supplied the offense for the hosts.
  • Dickinson attempted to rally back with two points each from Cole Cosby, Edmond and Moran cutting it down to 25-23 with 6:46 left.
  • The remainder of the frame belonged to the guests as baskets for George, Kearney and Stuart resulted in a 14-2 run extending their lead to 39-25 at halftime.
Second Half
  • The pair of Juan Ruiz and his brother Luis Ruiz tried to bring the Red and White back into it by scoring six of the first eight points closing to within 41-31 not even three minutes in.
  • A triple for Cosby along with baskets from Dopirak and Moran hacked the Terror advantage under double-digits at 49-40 with 6:39 off the clock.
  • Over the next six minutes McDaniel would take command of the game with a jumper by Kearney kicking off an 11-2 romp ending on two foul shots for Stuart to make it 60-42 at the 15:16 mark.
  • Dickinson got buckets from Dopirak, Edmond and J. Ruiz the rest of the game, but it would not be enough as McDaniel closed out the 66-49 victory.
