Sixth-Ranked Romero Stays Unbeaten as Devils Roll Raptors for First Win of the Season

CARLISLE, Pa. - After playing their first five matches away from Carlisle, the Dickinson women's squash team finally took to the friendly confines of the Kline Squash Center on Friday afternoon looking for win number one as they entertained the Bard College. That was exactly what the Red and White would find as they were in complete command of the match from start to finish posting a 9-0 win over the Raptors.

Inside the Match
Dickinson collected eight of nine wins by scores of 3-0, which included the group of Anabel Romero (1st), Thea Hegde (4th), Lila Brown (6th) and Grace Miller (7th) each claiming a game in their match via a shutout. The lowest Bard point output for a match came at the second flight where Katie Herring gave up just five points to Tarana Downer. Romero ranked sixth in the nation following the first-year's outstanding 5-0 start continued to roll notching her sixth victory of the campaign downing Catherine Chapel. The trio of Hegde, Miller and Victoria Savelius were dominant in their matches surrendering seven, eight and nine points to their Raptor counterparts. At the nine spot, Morgan Wheeler took the first two games before dropping the third to Catalyna Contreras-Araya. However, Wheeler responded with a 13-11 victory in the fourth to seal the match.
