CARLISLE, Pa. – The Dickinson field hockey team had their three-game winning streak ended abruptly on Saturday afternoon as the visiting Haverford College posted a 4-1 Centennial Conference victory at the Biddle Field Complex.
Caroline Kirkpatrick tallied the lone marker for the Red and White in the fourth quarter.
First Quarter
- The first 12-plus minutes went by with neither side able to find any offensive flow as it took until the 13:12 mark for Nicole Uebele to send an offering wide of cage following a corner played in by Gillian Rosenstock.
- Haverford got their opening chance a minute later when Morgan Reis skipped the ball wide of Arden Cook.
Second Quarter
- Just over four minutes in the visitors made it 1-0 when Erica Pardon beat Cook with a long-range shot from the left wing.
- The Fords continued to apply the pressure earning two corners leading to offerings from Louisa Coughlin and Pardon which were both knocked down by the DC defense.
- Steph Ionescu would be the first keeper to record a save on the day as she shutdown Megan McClure to end the half.
Third Quarter
- Haverford took advantage of a pair of corners early in the frame with Brynn Bickel setting up Lily Gover for the 2-0 edge, before Pardon found Coughlin who set the ball back to Pardon making it 3-0.
- Dickinson picked up three corners late in the frame, but could not post a shot as the quarter came to a close.
Fourth Quarter
- The Devils came out pushing the pace earning a pair of corners, which ultimately resulted in Kirkpatrick putting the ball beyond the reach of Ionescu just over two minutes in.
- Haverford had the next two chances with Cook denying Maryn Schreyer, before Alice Stein connected with Pardon for her third of the day.
