Dane Sorensen have earned the honor the league office announced.
Acuna, the native of St. Leon, Germany, had a team-high eight tackles (four solo), 2.5 sacks and 3.5 tackles for a loss totaling 21 yards in Dickinson's 35-21 victory over Johns Hopkins on Friday night. The senior defensive end also forced a fumble in the midst of the Red Devils' 28-point third quarter outburst and broke up a pass as Dickinson turned a 21-7 halftime deficit into the 14-point victory. It marked Dickinson's first win over Hopkins in Carlisle since 2001.Â
Sorensen, the resident of Bridgewater, New Jersey, earned the honor for the third time this season after leading the Red Devils to a comeback 35-21 victory over Johns Hopkins. The junior tailback led Dickinson in both rushing (122 yards) and receiving (74 yards), totaling three touchdowns. Sorensen averaged 6.4 yards per carry on 19 touches with two rushing touchdowns and also snagged a team-high seven catches for 74 yards and one receiving touchdown. He recorded two touchdowns during the Red Devils' 28-point third quarter, which helped turn a 21-7 halftime deficit into the 35-21 final.
The Red and White return to action on Saturday afternoon at 1pm when they visit Gettysburg College for the annual Battle for the Bucket.
