Box Score 2 MADISON, N.J. - The Dickinson men's tennis team opened up their 2026 spring season on Saturday afternoon with a visit to the Garden State for a pair of non-conference matchups against The College of New Jersey and the host Drew University at the Drew Tennis Complex. First, the Red and White were downed 7-0 by the Lions, before being knocked off by the Rangers 4-3.
Match One - Lions 7, DEVILS 0Â
Doubles (Lions 1-0 | Doubles count as one point)
At the three line,
Sandro Buskhrikidze and
Ryan Whiting were able to take two games off of Sidd Arudi and Logan Knasiak. The other two doubles pairs of
Lucas Bogle and
David Daraban (1st) as well as
Drew Allen and
Eddy Chow (2nd) both suffered 6-1 setbacks.
Singles (Lions 6-0)
TCNJ was able to make it 2-0 at the conclusion of the third match where Brett Schuster limited Allen to one game in a 6-1, 6-0 win. Daraban playing at the top spot put forth a good battle, but was knocked off 6-3, 6-2. A lot below was where Bogle forced a first set tiebreak with Faris Shehata which unfortunately went to the Lion 8-6, before taking the second set 6-3. On the five line, Chow could only take one game from Tomas Velez, while the duo of
Jack Weaver (6th) and Buskhrikidze (4th) combined to win 13 games from their opponents in straight set defeats.
Match Two - Rangers 4, DEVILS 3
Doubles (DEVILS 1-0 | Doubles count as one point)
Dickinson picked up their first match win of the day on the three line where the combo of Buskhrikidze and Weaver blanked Kiran Bhattacharya and Devan Sutaria 6-0. The Red and White then claimed the doubles point with a 6-4 win by Allen and Chow as they toppled Nicolas Mobayed and Shivi Perera. However, the Devils were not able to complete the clean sweep as Daniel Arcari-Jesse Faro edged Bogle-Daraban 6-3.
Singles (Rangers 4-2)
The Rangers drew even at 1-1 immediately with Faro downing Bogle 6-2, 6-3 in a top of the ladder battle. Arcari and Daraban then dueled at the number two slot with Drew taking the lead thanks to a 6-4, 6-1 win. Perera (4th) knocked off Buskhrikidze by identical 6-3 margins to put the home side on the verge of victory. Allen playing at three was then tasked with keeping the match alive for the Devils as he squared off with Mobayed. The Ranger claimed the first 6-0, before Allen rallied back with a 6-3 triumph in the second to force a decisive super tiebreaker. In the extra frame it was Mobayed who had just a little more in the tank earning the 10-6 win to secure the match for Drew. Dickinson would end the match strong though getting wins on the five and six lines from
Ben Cioladis and Whiting respectively to set the 4-3 final result.

Dickinson (1-4) will return to action in two weeks when they take on Division II Kutztown University at the Hershey Racquet Club. First serve is slated for 2pm in Hershey.
