CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's squash team found early success at the top of the ladder on Friday afternoon collecting wins at numbers one and two, but it was not enough as the visiting Saints from Saint Lawrence University posted a 6-3 win inside the Kline Squash Center.
Inside the Match
First-year
Anabel Romero continued her strong campaign by securing another 3-0 win at the top spot allowing Angel Otshabeng to claim just ten points during the duration of the match. Then, at number two,
Katie Herring notched a 3-0 shutout of Eboni Atherley. The other DC triumph came in the fifth slot where
Gabi El-Masry took the first two games from Laura Franz, before being tripped up in the third. However, the Devil righted the ship in the fourth to claim the match with an 11-6 victory.
Victoria Savelius playing at four won the first game off of Madeleine Martin, but then dropped the ensuing three to fall in four. Unfortunately, for the Red and White the group of
Thea Hegde (3rd),
Grace Miller (6th),
Lila Brown (7th) and
Lauren Flowers (8th) were defeated in straight games to allow the Saints to seize the victory.
