Inside the Game
- After a solid top of the first for Charlie Bien, the Devils went to work in the home-half against Ryan Wootten. Following back-to-back flyouts from Dylan Posencheg and Will Ferris, Johnny Bruno worked a walk and then stole second. Kyle Bailey then poked a single to center plating the runner, unfortunately, he would be thrown out trying to advance to second ending the inning.
- The Bullets responded in the second when a single for Jack Amirata came in to score on a triple from Michael Fischetti. Next man up was Connor Tongring who produced a sacrifice fly for a 2-1 edge through one-and-a-half. Wootten posted a needed shutdown frame by setting down Luke Gartland, Miguel Reich and Freeman Hunt in order.
- Over the next two innings, Bien would allow some base runners but did not allow anyone to cross. Wootten continued to be strong during that window as well retiring six in a row keeping it 2-1 into the fifth.
- Gettysburg pushed the lead to 3-1 two batters into things as Will Bercaw reached on an error, before Robert Murphy also reached on a fielding miscue letting Bercaw race home. Gartland was hit by a pitch to begin the bottom portion, but was then erased on a double-play off the stick of Reich. Hunt would single to try and spark a late rally, however, Ben Milligan grounded out to short for the last out.
- Relievers Aidan McElhatton and Alex Bergen allowed no damage during the sixth which kept the game 3-1 entering the seventh.
- The score became 4-1 in the top-half as a double and single resulted in one crossing the dish. John Talt then came in from the pen to face Adam Hicks and got him to fly out for the final out. Bailey would work a one out walk in the bottom-half, but back-to-back fly outs from Gartland and Reich ended the frame.
- After a flawless top of the ninth for Will Marziarz, Ferris singled, Bruno walked and Bailey was hit by a pitch to load the bags with one away. That ended the day for Bergen as he was replaced by Ethan Mitnick. He would issue a pair of two out free passes to Reich and Hunt to make it 4-3. However, the rally stalled there as Ethan Sodl went down on strikes ending the game.
