CARLISLE, Pa. – Dickinson College field hockey head coach Maggie Sohns has announced the addition of Ellie Jenkins to her coaching staff ahead of the 2026 season.

Jenkins comes to Carlisle with a strong background in Division III field hockey, having spent the past several years developing as a collegiate coach after completing a championship-winning playing career at Stevens Institute of Technology.

Most recently, Jenkins served as an assistant field hockey coach at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a position she held beginning in August 2024. During her time with the Engineers, MIT reached the NEWMAC playoffs in consecutive seasons and advanced to the conference championship game during the 2024 campaign. The program climbed as high as No. 13 in the NFHCA Division III Coaches Poll that season and reached No. 19 during the 2025 campaign. MIT also earned a victory over a top-10 opponent, its highest-ranked win since 2019.

Jenkins helped coach a group that produced two All-Americans, three All-Region selections and six NEWMAC All-Conference honorees. Her duties included assisting with practice planning and drill implementation, preparing opponent scouting reports and film clips and contributing to the program's recruiting efforts. She attended national and regional recruiting events, including NFHCA Winter Escape and Shooting Stars Thanksgiving, while helping identify prospective student-athletes capable of meeting MIT's athletic and academic standards.

She also gained head-coaching experience during the spring of 2026, serving as MIT's interim head coach from February through April. Jenkins assumed the administrative duties of the program, designed and ran spring practices and maintained communication with recruits while leading prospective student-athletes through campus visits. During that period, the program also exceeded its 24-Hour Challenge fundraising goal of 100 donors and raised more than $10,000.

Before joining MIT, Jenkins spent two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at Manhattanville University from 2022 through 2024. During her first season, she helped Manhattanville double its win total and earn a berth in the Atlantic East Conference playoffs. Her role included a wide range of responsibilities, from team operations and recruiting databases to equipment inventory, travel planning, social media and budget management.

Jenkins has also expanded her coaching experience through USA Field Hockey. She has served as a NEXUS coach within Regions 3 and 4 since 2024, working at regional training sites and selection camps while teaching within USA Field Hockey's "USA Way" developmental system. She earned her Level 1 coaching certification through USA Field Hockey in March 2023.  Her coaching background extends to the club level as well. Jenkins has worked with Wizards Field Hockey Club, CT Elite Field Hockey Club and AIM Athletes Field Hockey Club, coaching players across several age groups. While with CT Elite, she guided U12 teams to an undefeated showing at the National Indoor Tournament and a first-place pool finish at the Seacoast Arctic Bash. She has also worked with Beyond Sticks Field Hockey, developing practices for players ages 13 through 18 with an emphasis on both technical and tactical growth.

Prior to entering the coaching ranks, Jenkins played four seasons of Division III field hockey at Stevens Institute of Technology from 2018 through 2021.

Her collegiate career culminated with a memorable 2021 campaign as Stevens captured the first MAC Freedom Conference championship in program history. The
Ducks also shared the MAC Freedom regular-season championship, the program's first regular-season title since 2013, before advancing to the opening round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Jenkins graduated from Stevens in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Business and Technology and a minor in Economics before earning a Master of Science in Sports Business and Entertainment Management from Manhattanville in 2024.

She now brings a combination of Division III playing experience, collegiate coaching success, recruiting knowledge and player development experience to the Red Devils.
