The Dickinson men's tennis team began their 2026-2027 campaign on Saturday afternoon with a rather unique doubleheader as they opened the day at Messiah University, before venturing about a half-hour east to Lebanon Valley College.
Match One - Falcons 4, DEVILS 3
GRANTHAM, Pa. - The Red and White won three singles matches, but lost at first and third doubles to allow the host Messiah University to claim the doubles point and ultimately the match 4-3 at Criste Courts
Doubles (Falcons 2-1)
Messiah began the day by taking the win at number ones singles 6-3 as Lance Wilson and Brady Hahn bested
Lucas Bogle and
Antonis Malavazos. Dickinson responded with
Kabir Jaitly and
Nikhil Narsi posting a 7-5 triumph versus Daniel Wenger-Timothy Sheaffer. Unfortunately, the third pair of Micah Batson and Xane Whitesel defeated
Aidan MacIntosh-
Dylan Steinberg (6-2).
Singles (Tied 3-3)
After dropping set one, Bogle responded with identical 6-1, 6-1 set wins to take the match at one. Dickinson then took the lead with a 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 win earned by Jaitly again Elijah Noll. The Falcons drew even at 2-2 when Sheaffer edged out
Drew Allen on the four line. At five and six, both
Jack Weaver and MacIntosh would win their first sets, but Wenger and Batson took the ensuing two in order to take the matches in three sets and secure the match. Malavazos knocked off Wilson 6-4, 6-2 to set the 4-3 final for the hosts.
Match Two - DEVILS 7, Dutchmen 0
ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Devils were dominant from the outset en route to a convincing 7-0 victory on the road at Lebanon Valley on the courts of the Shankroff Tennis Center.
Doubles (DEVILS 3-0)
The third pair of
Hayden Baer and Narsi started the match by knocking off Jared Hostetter and Ethan Luu 7-5. That would then be the same margin for
David Daraban alongside of Allen against Jesse Beck-Zach Schrader. On the two line
Sandro Buskhrikidze and
Ben Cioladis went 6-6 with the team of Mason Dissinger and Zachary Elmore, before posting an 8-6 win in the tiebreaker.
Singles (DEVILS 6-0)
Baer kicked off singles with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at the fifth slot over Elmore. Narsi then used the same scoreline to take down Dissinger at three. Steinberg playing six earned a 6-1, 6-4 straight set win against Brayden Waiter. With the match decided, Allen (4th), Buskhrikidze (2nd) and Daraban (1st) each notched wins versus Luu, Beck and Schrader respectively to finish off the shutout.

Dickinson (1-1) will spend next weekend in Baltimore, Maryland to take part in both the Goucher College Invitationa and the McClure Invitational (hosted by Loyola University Maryland).
