MTEN - Men's Tennis Competes at ITA Regionals During the Weekend

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The Dickinson men's tennis team returned to the courts this past weekend to take part in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Southeast Regional Championships hosted by the University of Mary Washington.

Singles Championship Draw
Lucas Bogle began his tournament with a 6-1, 6-0 setback to Alex Feies from Carnegie Mellon University. He then dropped into the consolation bracket for a matchup with Salisbury University's Lucas Pham. Unfortunately for Bogle, it was Pham who came out on the right side of the 8-4 decision.

Singles B2 Draw
Antonis Malavazos started with a 12-10 super tiebreaker victory over Caden Hsia (Haverford College). He moved onto a quarterfinal match against Matthew Miller from Christopher Newport University. Malavazos gave it a good fight, but fell 1-6, 3-6.

Singles B3 Draw
David Daraban posted a 6-0, 6-2 straight set win over Aidan Cron (St. Mary's Md.). In round two, he won the first set against Alexandre Gaboardi (Lynchburg College) 6-2, before Gaboardi was forced to retire due to injury. Damir Cuturic (Penn State Harrisburg) awaited him for the semifinal round, unfortunately, the two would not square off as he withdrew. That put Daraban into the final versus Jamison Wallace from Christopher Newport University who took the title by identical 6-2, 6-2 scores.

Doubles Championship Draw
The pair of Bogle and Malavazos went down in the first round to Kinnear and Miller (CNU) by a score of 8-4.

Doubles B2 Draw
Nikhil Narsi and Daraban were given a bye right to the semifinals. The Hampden-Sydney College duo of Thomas Davis-James Woerner awaited the pair in the semis and with the set tied at 7-7 they claimed the decisive tiebreaker 7-5.
