CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Dickinson field hockey team didn't allow a shot on goal until the final two minutes of play on Saturday afternoon in a 4-1 win over DeSales.
First Quarter
- The Red and White would get two shots in quick succession, but stops by Bulldogs goalkeeper Lily Trocki and midfielder Alina Culver would keep the game scoreless.
- The Devils would take two penalty corners and get two more shot attempts, but another save by Trocki and a blocked shot would keep Dickinson out of the scoring column for the moment.
- The Bulldogs would have two penalty corners of their own, but failed to get a shot attempt on either one.
Second Quarter
- Just over five minutes into the quarter, the Red and White would take a 1-0 lead on a goal by Lucy Brown, who was assisted by Alex Hackett.
- The Devils would get two more shots on goal and three penalty corners in the quarter, but did not convert, taking a 1-0 lead into the half.
- The Red Devil defense did not allow a shot or penalty corner to the Bulldogs in the entire second quarter.
Third Quarter
- The Red Devils took three shots on goal in a 30 second span early in the second half, with the third shot resulting in a Hackett goal off an assist by Gillian Rosenstock.
- The Devils would strike again with 4:10 left in the quarter by way of a Nicole Uebele goal with an assist from Hackett for Hackett's third point of the day.
- The Bulldogs yet again did not have a shot or penalty corner in the third quarter.
Fourth Quarter
- Dickinson would open the fourth quarter scoring with a penalty stroke goal from Uebele to take a 4-0 lead with 5:30 left in the game.
- DeSales would take their first shot of the game with 3:34 remaining in the quarter.
- Stephanie Pallante gave the Bulldogs their first goal and only shot on goal of the day with 1:40 remaining in the contest.
