HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Dickinson field hockey team was on the attack early and kept their foot on the gas pedal all day long as they outshot the host Juniata College 25-1 (20-1 on target) and got goals from four different players en route to a comfortable 4-0 non-conference victory over the Eagles at Knox Stadium.
First Quarter
- The Red and White wasted no time getting onto the scoreboard with Nicole Uebele beating Kara Stringfellow with just 1:49 gone.
- Dickinson continued to just fire away as Alex Hackett, Erin Liggio, Gillian Rosenstock and Uebele accounting for seven more shots forcing seven stops by Stringfellow.
- However, the Devils would add one more prior to the end of the period when an attempt by Liggio that was saved resulted in a rebound and a foul in the circle leading to a penalty stroke for the visitors. First Year Ella Ledenko stepped up to the spot and bested the keeper for a 2-0 edge through one.
Second Quarter
- In the frame, DC earned four corners leading to chances for Raegan Carty, Alexandra Hockwitt, Rosenstock and Uebele, but all of them were turned away by Stringfellow.
Third Quarter
- Dickinson needed just two minutes to stretch the gap to 3-0 with Liggio cashing in unassisted.
- Emmy Chazen, Riley Oakes and Uebele all asked questions of Stringfellow over the next ten minutes, unfortunately none of them could add onto the advantage.
- Juniata recorded their first shot of the game with 40:46 gone as Mallory Prince tested Arden Cook who made the stop.
Fourth Quarter
- Just over five minutes it became 4-0 courtesy of Chazen.
- That led to Tess Nowosad replacing Stringfellow and she made one stop against Rosenstock as the game came to a close.
