College women's volleyball team won both matches on Saturday to
improve to 3-5 on the season. |
In a rematch from Friday night, the Red Devils posted a 3-0 win
over Mary Baldwin College on Saturday morning (25-7, 25-6, 25-13).
The later turned back Sweet Briar College 3-0 (25-10, 25-10, 26-24)
as well.
First-year Avery Zuvic (Cold Spring,
N.Y./Haldane) led the Devils with 11 kills and eight
digs against Mary Baldwin and added a team-high nine kills in the
nightcap.
Senior Ely Gosheva (Sofia, Bulgaria/American
University of Sofia) tallied seven kills, three aces,
eight digs and three solo blocks in the win over
MBC. Liz Norris
(Southbury, Conn./Hotchkiss) recorded
12 kills and five blocks for the day.
First-year Kaylee Britain (Watzata,
Minn./Blake) chipped in with eight kills
and Lauren Yura (Morgantown,
W.V./Morgantown)had 17 digs in two matches.
Senior setter Chelsea Winkert (Cazenovia,
N.Y./Cazenovia)dished out 28 assists agianst MBC and 23
against Sweet Briar.Amanda Hayes (Midlothian,
Va./Midlothian) recorded 20 digs and eight assists
for the day, and tallied three aces against SBC.
The Red Devils travel to Susquehanna on Wednesday night to face
the Crusaders at 7:00 pm.
