Box Score 1 | Box Score 2
(Carlisle, Pa.) - The Dickinson College baseball team played well in both games, but suffered a pair of losses to visiting Washington College on Saturday.

The Shoremen scored in the top of the third to take a 1-0 lead in the opener. The Devils immediately answered when Andrew Sterling (Houston, Texas/Episcopal) tripled to right center, scoring junior Mike Schuster (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley).

Ben Sciambi (Port Monmouth, N.J./Ridge) and Matt Tuneski (Waterford, Conn./Waterford) used back-to-back doubles to answer a Washington run in the fourth, tying the game, 2-2.

The Shoremen scored once in the fifth and again the sixth to pull in front 4-2. Sciambi singled in Tyler Rosa' (Carmel by the Sea, Calif./Stevenson School) in the bottom of the sixth before Chris Keiper came on to record the first of two saves for Washington.

Sciambi went 3-for-3 in game one while Schuster finished 2-for-4.

Game two started as a pitcher's duel as both teams remained scoreless through four innings. The Shoremen broke open the game with three runs in the top of the fifth.

Dickinson pushed a run across in the bottom of the fifth after Tuneski doubled and later scored off the bat of Bart Marchant (Lakeville, Conn./Hotchkiss).

Four straight singles led to a pair of Washington runs in the seventh to stretch the margin to 5-1. Tuneski scored again off an RBI by Matt Vidal (Bronx, N.Y./All Hallows) in the bottom of the inning.

Another Washington insurance run in the eighth made the score 6-2. Evan Hennessy (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) drove in two runs with his third hit of the game to pull the Devils within 6-4.

Brett Friedman (Port Washington, N.Y./Paul D. Schrieber)retired three straight Shoremen in the ninth but the Devils weren't able to rally in their final at bat, falling 6-4.

Hennessy went 3-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs in the nightcap. Tuneski finished the game 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

The Red Devils slip to 6-23 overall and 3-13 in the Centennial Conference. They are home again on Tuesday, hosting Penn State Harrisburg at 3:30 pm.
