(Carlisle, Pa.) –The Dickinson field hockey team turned in another solid performance, but suffered a 2-0 setback to visiting Susquehanna University on Saturday.
The Crusaders tallied both goals in the first half. Katherine Millett struck first, scoring off an assist from Brodie Ercole in the 27th minute.
SU capitalized on a penalty corner, just three minutes later as Megan McClellen found the back of the cage off an assist from Rebecca Marion, with just over five minutes to play in the half.
Margaret Ruth made eight saves in goal for Susquehanna while senior Katy Schlechtweg (Mount Laurel, N.J./Moorestown Friends) made eight saves as well, in the cage for the Devils.
Junior Caroline Kapustynski (Darien, Conn./Darien) made a defensive save while classmate Ali Becker (Spring House, Pa./Germantown Academy) had three shots on goal.
The Red Devils slip to 1-2 on the season. They go on the road next week, traveling to Haverford College next Saturday for a 1:00 pm start.
