(Carlisle, Pa.) –The Dickinson men's soccer team improved to 9-2-1 on the season, posting a 3-0 win over visiting Misericordia on Wednesday night at Miller Memorial Field.
Sophomore Danny Sheppard (Rydal, Pa./Abington) struck twice for the Red Devils while senior Drew Carneal (Woodbine, Md./Sandy Springs Friends) tallied a pair of assists on the night.
Sheppard put the Devils on the board, driving a header into the back of the net, off a beautifully placed cross from Carneal, just over nine minutes into the match.
The Red Devils found the net twice in a span of just two minutes and twelve seconds to stretch the lead to 3-0. Sheppard sent a rocket into the net in the 63rd minute and then Carneal served up his second assist of the night, this time finding Alfred Hylton-Dei (Geneva, Switzerland/Mercersburg Academy, Pa.) in front of the goal for the final tally of the night.
The Red Devils outshout the Cougars, 17-7, putting seven shots on net as Barry Fitzgerald came up with four saves for Misericordia. The Cougars held a 4-0 advantage in corners in the first half. The Devils forced four in the second half while allowing just one on the defensive end.
Senior Reed Milbrath (Dickerson, Md./Sandy Springs Friends) made four saves on the night before Jacob Schreer (Towako, N.J./Morristown-Beard) came on to make a save in the final 17 minutes.
The Red Devils (9-2-1) are home again on Saturday, returning to Centennial Conference action with a 7:00 match against Haverford College.
