KANSAS CITY – On Thursday, the United Soccer Coaches organization announced the 2025 NCAA DIII Men's Soccer Regional Staff of the Year awards and Red Devils Head Coach Jorge Chapoy and the rest of his coaching staff were named the Region V Coaching Staff of the Year for a second consecutive season.
Chapoy, along with assistant coaches Gaoussou Coulibaly, Toan Ngo and Seth Stover, received the region honor after the team posted an undefeated overall record of 16-0-8 with a 5-0-4 mark in the Centennial Conference and ultimately claiming the first conference crown for the Red and White since 2011 with a 4-0 win over Johns Hopkins. The conference title earned the Devils an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament where they would advance to the Elite Eight for a second straight year picking up wins over North Carolina Wesleyan (5-0), Denison University (2-0) and the University of Lynchburg (1-0) along the way. With the aid of the coaching staff, the Red Devils had eight players chosen to the All-Centennial Conference Team, including the conference's Offensive Player of the Year Saul Iwowo, while having five student-athletes receive All-Region honors with two of them Ethan Jarden and Iwowo being tabbed as All-Americans.
Chapoy was named the head coach of the Red and White in 2020 with his first campaign being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Under his tutelage, DC has made it to the CC playoffs the past four seasons culminating in back-to-back trips to NCAA Tournament in 2024 and 2025.
