(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's swim team faced some strong competition from Division II Bloomsburg University on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Huskies, 141-97.
The Red Devils had some strong individual performances on the day. First-year Mitchell Reynolds (Frederick, Md./Frederick) swam well in the distance events, placing second in the both the 1000 and 500 yard freestyle events.
Sophomore Alex Bennett (Baltimore, Md./Loyola Blakefield) won the 500 free, adding a second place finish in the 200 freestyle and claimed bronze as the anchor of the medley relay.
Senior Cameron Phillips (Woburn, Mass./Phillips Academy Andover) earned wins with the 400 free relay and in the 100 butterfly. He added third place showings in the 200 butterfly and the 200 medley relay.
Classmate Chris Miles (Hartford, Conn./Kingswood Oxford) captured second in the 100 and 200 backstroke, and swam the lead leg of the third place medley relay.
Alan Karickhoff (Willoughby, Ohio/Hawken) and Travis Lipscomb (San Antonio, Texas/Alamo Heights) swam the last two legs of the free relay and captured thirds in the 100 and 50 yard freestyle events, respectively.
First-years Nick Beard (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) and Jake Beley (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) went one-two in the 200 individual medley.
The Red Devils slip to 3-3 on the season. They are home again next Saturday, hosting the Dickinson Invitational.
