Samson Qu was named to the First Team in the 100 Free and senior
James Wright took a spot on the Second Team in the 200 Free.
Samson Qu had a stellar season, setting new personal bests in six events, earning NCAA B-Cut distinctions twice, and breaking multiple school records. The sophomore started by lowering his own school record in the 100 IM to 52.80, winning the event in the team's home opener against Washington College on Noveber 1. At the Franklin & Marshall Invite, Qu earned his first NCAA B-Cut with his first-place, 20.30 finish in the 50 Free. In December at the Gettysburg Invite, he lowered his 50 Free time to 20.20 and earned his second B-Cut with his lead-off swim in the 400 Free Relay (44.95). Qu finished strong at the Conference Championships last weekend, winning gold in the 100 Free to lower his B-Cut to a 44.60 and set a new season-best time in Division III. He was also apart of three relay teams that set school records and found a spot on the podium in four events.
James Wright had a spectacular senior season capped by an amazing performance at Conference Championships where he broke eight school records. On the final day of the Franklin & Marshall Invite, he lowered his 200 Back school record with his 1:49.07 win in prelims and also set a new record with his 400 Free Relay team. He broke another school record at the Gettysburg Invite when he swam in the 800 Free Relay, swimming a 1:40.04 to lower the 200 Free record. To start his final Conference Championships, he was apart of the 200 Medley Relay team that broke a school record with a 1:31.64 swim. Day two brought two more school records with his fifth place, 1:51.01 finish in the 200 IM and in the 400 Medley Relay with a time of 3:21.48. He broke another school record in the 200 Free with his silver medal, 1:39.73 swim, and broke two more on the final day in the 200 Back (1:48.99) and 400 Free Relay (3:03.77).
