(Scranton, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's and women's swim teams both posted wins at the University of Scranton on Sunday. The teams swam 14 events with the Red Devil women claiming a 150-112 decision while the men finished the day with a 149-110 advantage.
Senior Chris Miles (Hartford, Conn./Kingswood Oxford) was a triple-winner on the afternoon. He swam the lead leg of the winning 100 medley relay (1:40.71). Miles also claimed the 100 and 200 backstroke events with times of 1:01.97 and 2:03.52.
Senior Cameron Phillips (Woburn, Mass./Phillips Academy Andover) won three events as well, joining the medley relay and touching first in the 100 (55.82) and 200 (2:05.21) butterfly events.
Sophomore Alex Bennett (Baltimore, Md./Loyola Blakefield) was the Devils' third triple-winner, anchoring the medley relay and swimming to gold in the 200 (1:49.58) and 500 (5:09.12) freestyle.
Sophomore Sam Eaton (Port Matilda, Pa./State College) rounded out the medley relay and won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:01.47. He was second in the 200 breaststroke.
First-year Mitchell Reynolds (Frederick, Md./Frederick) had strong showings in the distance events. He won the 1000 freestyle (10:40.32) and finished second in the 500. Junior Alan Karickhoff (Willoughby, Ohio/Hawken School) was second in the 1000 free. He also touched just ahead of Travis Lipscomb (San Antonio, Texas/Alamo Heights) in the 100 freestyle to place third.
First-year Nick Beard (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:18.14 and placed second in the 100 breaststroke.
The Red Devils improve to 1-1 on the season. They travel to York College next Saturday to face the Spartans and St. Mary's College in a tri-meet.
