A one-out walk and three straight singles led to a pair of runs for the Blue Jays in the bottom of the second. The Devils answered in the third. Mark Adams (Mount Olive, N.J./Mount Olive) drew a lead-off walk and scored on a single from Dolan.
Dolan doubled and came in to score when Steven Haynes (Mt. Kisco, N.Y./Horace Greeley) reached on an error to match a Hopkins run in the fourth, giving the Devils a 6-3 advantage.
The Devils blew the game open in the seventh, scoring five runs to stretch the lead to 11-3. Sam Wachs (Severna Park, Md./Severn School) started the rally when he was hit by a pitch.

Back-to-back doubles led to a pair of Blue Jay runs in the eighth, but that would be all as the Red Devils claimed the conference opener, improving to 15-2 overall.
Junior Harley Moore (Deltaville, Va./Middlesex) earned the win, improving to 4-0 on the season. He went three and two-thirds innings before Ryan Kramer (New Vernon, N.J./Morristown Beard) came on to earn the save with a solid five inning effort.
