Swimming Honored for 43rd Consecutive Semester

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's and women's swimming programs were both honored as College Swimming Coaches Association of American (CSCAA), Scholar All-America Teams. The CSCAA presents the Team Scholar All-America award to college and university swimming and diving teams who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

The Red Devil men's and women's programs both have a strong history of academic success, earning the Scholar All-America Team honors in each of the past 43 consecutive semesters, under head coach Paul Richards. The Scholar All-America Team Award is presented, following the fall and spring semesters of each academic year. Both the men's and women's programs have been recognized each semester for the past two decades, adding to the rich tradition of Dickinson swimming.

The Red Devils have had outstanding seasons in the pool as well this season. The men are currently 6-2 overall and 3-1 in the Centennial Conference. The women stand at 5-4 overall and 3-2 in the CC while first-year Olivia Lyman (Mount Kisco, N.Y./Horace Greeley) just set a new school record in the 1,000 yard freestyle with a time of 10:28.91.

Dickinson will look to have six men and four women named to the 2016 Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll. Senior captain Katie Nirenberg (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) will be make her third appearance on the honor roll this winter.

The Red Devils host Gettysburg College on Wednesday night before closing out the regular season with senior day on Saturday when Swarthmore comes to the Kline Center. They will head to the conference championships on February 19th through the 21st.
