Box Score CARLISLE, Pa. - For the second week in a row the Dickinson football team entertained a nationally-ranked foe as the ninth-ranked Muhlenberg Mules came to Biddle Field on Saturday afternoon for the Centennial Conference opener for both sides. Unfortunately, for the Red Devils, the Mules took a 24-0 lead at the half and never looked back en route to a 34-13 win.
Muhlenberg took advantage of consecutive Dickinson three-and-outs to start the game to build up a 14-0 edge on a pair of Michael Hnatkowsky touchdown passes to Michael Feaster. The Devils would not cross midfield at any point in the first.
Nick Stannard capped off a 9 play, 65-yard drive with a 24-yard field goal early in the second. After Tim Graham had his pass intercepted Hnatkowsky went on another time-consuming drive that ended in a three-yard toss to Thomas Jenkins to make it 24-0 at the break.
The two teams exchanged three-and-outs to start half number two. Then, Dickinson started a drive their own 46 after Alex Sulin came up with an interception. Graham hooked up with Daniel Bathon for 32 yards to take it down to the Mules 22. After rush attempts by Robert Geiss and Diante Ball the Devils went for their first points of the contest on a 40-yard attempt by Raleigh Wynot, but Joshua Barnett got inside to block the kick. Stannard would make it 27-0 on the following drive.
Dickinson on their next series faced a 3-and-10 at their own 9-yard line when Graham found Bryce Peterson for 69-yards. On that same play the visitors were called for roughing the passer which advanced the ball to the 11. One play later Graham rolled out and delivered the ball to Ball who took it to the house making it 27-6 after the point after failed.
The Mules made it 34-6 after a 45-yard pick-six for John Washington. The scoring for the day concluded on the next home possession as Caleb Pruitt found Ball for a 73-yard strike to trim the margin to the final of 34-13.
