Inside the Devils Den
Fireside Review - DEVILS 27, Christopher Newport 24 (OT) (Carlisle, Pa. - Biddle Field)
The visitors collected the first 14 points of the game as Gunner White found the house once each in the first and second quarters. Then, with just 1:28 remaining until the break
Presley Egbers found
Devlin McCool from four yards out to end an eleven-play, 70 yard march in just under five minutes to close within 14-7 at half. Coming out of the locker room the Red and White looked to level things up which is exactly what they did as Egbers linked up with
Bobby Markey to finish off the quick six-play, 69-yard romp. The game would stay tied at 14 into the fourth quarter when with 6:42 to play Connor Barry plunged in from a yard away to take a 21-14 lead. Dickinson did not go away however as on the ensuing possession the home side drove ten plays in 5:12 with
Diante Ball capping it off with a six-yard TD run. The game would then head into overtime and after a solid defensive stand by the Devils that only allowed a 23-yard Ryan Castle field goal, Dickinson went to work knowing they needed a touchdown to end the game. A nine-yard pass to McCool and a two-yard carry by Ball, set the stage for Egbers to find Markey in the back of the endzone for the walk-off TD.
The Offensive General
QuarterbackÂ
Presley Egbers had one of his better games as a Devil going 16-for-28 totaling 221 yards with three touchdowns. For the season, Egbers is 71-of-143 racking up 819 yards recording seven touchdowns posting a 108.32 quarterback rating, while also tossing four picks.
Rushing Attack
The Captains defense did a nice number of the Devils leading rusher
Diante Ball as he carried a game-high 27 times for just 67 yards with one touchdown on a 2.8 yards per carry average. Egbers also took off seven times on his own picking up a dozen yards.
Juan Pablo Garcia ran once taking off on a fake punt on a fourth down late in the final quarter to keep the game-tying drive going. With five games remaining Ball has a chance to post his second straight 1000-yard plus season as he currently sits at 520 yards on 114 touches which has him averaging a conference-best 104.0 yards per game.Â
Pass Catchers
Egbers went in search of hitting six different targets on Saturday, with
Princeton Douglass leading the way with six grabs for 70 yards, while McCool hauled in five passes racking up 65 yards with a touchdown. Markey had a strong day as well using two of his three receptions to record TDs totaling 77 yards. Ball also caught two passes out of the backfield for nine yards. Egbers attempted to find both
Kellen Boyer and
Frederik Fjeldseth, but was unable to hook up with either.Â
Defense Helps as Well
The Dickinson defense was led by Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week
James Basilii who recorded a game-high 15 tackles (eight solo) as well as an interception, while teammate
Alex Sulin was also in double-digits with 11 (six solo).
Neville Krueger notched eight hits. The trio of

The Scare Report

Trent Gaskins grabbed three for 15, while Aaron Gale and Hunter Sigler each brought in two for a combined 75 yards. Gaskins was the top man on the ground for McDaniel against the Mules toting the rock 15 times for 33, while Granado joined him in double-digits with 11 touches amounting to 20 yards.
