Devils End Unblemished Fall Campaign by Knocking Off Spartans

CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson men's tennis team concluded a flawless fall slate on Thursday afternoon with a dominant 8-1 victory over the visiting Spartans of York College of Pennsylvania at the Hays Tennis Courts in non-conference action. The win for the Red and White concluded the best fall portion of the schedule for the program in at least 20 years as well as matched the overall win total from the 2022-2023 campaign.

Doubles (DEVILS 3-0)
The top pair of DJ Finnell and Levi Veleanu began the afternoon with a convincing 8-1 triumph over Ben Dorsey and Evan Stehman, while the number three duo of Romano De Caprio and Sid Ramaswamy secured a win by the same scoreline. The final match to end was the second doubles where Drew Allen and Florian Anderson were too much for Jason Lutz and Hayden Musser (8-5).

Singles (DEVILS 5-1)
Spencer Goodman competing at the five slot was the first bout to wrap-up as he took care of Emmet Larson by posting a shutout, 6-0, 6-0. De Caprio playing number one allowed Dorsey to claim just three game in a 6-1, 6-2 win, which secured the match for the Red and White as they led 5-0 at that point. Dickinson earned a victory in the fourth spot as well after Allen disposed of Musser by scores of 6-2 and 6-0. Finnell needed a 7-4 win in a first-set tiebreaker, before blanking Stehman 6-0 in the ensuing set. Lutz picked up the only win for the Spartans at number two knocking off Ramaswamy 1-6, 4-6. Senior Nick Kohler playing in his final match as a Red Devil due to graduating in the winter needed three sets to get by Ian Bartles (4-6, 6-3, 10-7).
