BRYN MAWR, Pa. - The Dickinson women's basketball team scored early and often in their final tune-up before the Centennial Conference Tournament as the Red and White handed the host Bryn Mawr College a 69-19 conference defeat on Saturday afternoon at Class of 1958 Gymnasium.
Dickinson needed just five minutes to put 15 points on the board as all five starters
Caitlin Blackman,
Lindsey Hollenshead,
Mia Kolb,
Clair Marion and
Kate Montgomery all hit the bottom of the net to make it 15-0. After two foul shots by Hannah Binder,
Mia Chapman, Leah Dublin and
Abby John joined in the scoring to make it 27-2 after one.
Molly Heron dropped the first four points of the second, before
Victoria Zerbe added a fastbreak layup to push the margin to 33-2 with three minutes off the clock. Ella Kotsen got on a bit of a roll netting five in a row, prior to
Gina Neigel getting her first points followed by Chapman and Dublin making it 40-7. Alanna Mora-Mickens and
Indatou Ali-Goukoye traded the final two baskets of the half leaving it at 42-9 heading to the break.
The Red and White put the starters back in to begin the third and they picked up right where they left off as Blackman and Marion opened the margin to 40 at 49-9 with 3:28 gone. Zoe Boxill and Sena Kaper-Dale put their names into the scorebook to slow the momentum for a second, but
Ella Smith and Chapman each added buckets for the 53-16 edge through 30 minutes.
Dickinson continued to pile on with Chapman, Hollenshead, Marion, Neigel, Smith and Zerbe going on a 14-0 rampage over the first eight minutes to make it 67-16, before Aliya Stubenbord hit from deep. John capped off the scoring with two at the charity line in the final minute for the 69-19 final.
