CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson softball team won in two different ways on Tuesday afternoon. First, the Red and White got dominant pitching and timely hitting in a 6-0 shutout in game one, before losing an early lead in game two but ultimately walking it off 6-5 against the rival Franklin and Marshall College at Dickinson Park.

After a scoreless first, the Red Devils got to Diplomats starter Ainsley McClure in the last of the second as
Abby Kohan singled with one out. Then, Zoe Kleebatt laid down a sacrifice bunt to the catcher for the second out. However, during that play Kat Gunther at first tried to throw out Kohan who was racing around to third, but her toss sailed over the head of Riley Williams at third to let Kohan race home for the 1-0 lead through two.
The first-years would be the catalysts for a three-run rally during the home-half of the third as
Jessie Sandusky started things with a single. After the next two hitters were retired,
Jane Lloyd smashed a triple to deep right scoring one, which was followed immediately by an RBI knock from
Eden Blanker.
Paige Hahn made it 4-0 with two-bagger to right driving home Blanker. The rampage came to a head when Kohan popped up to short. Dickinson pushed the margin to 6-0 in the bottom of the fifth when Lloyd reached safely on an error to start the frame, before Blanker smoked a two-run bomb over the left-field wall.

Riley Kuehn was outstanding over her seven innings of work as scattered five hits and fanned eight batters without allowing a walk on 92 pitches.

Lindsay Kucker began the game in the circle for the Red and White and gave up one runner on a hit batter in the first, but got a strikeout as well as a groundout to retire the side. In the home-half
Devon Kueny legged out an infield and Lloyd walked to put two on with no outs for Blanker. During her at-bat both runners swiped a bag to get in scoring position. However, she would popout, but Hahn walked to fill the pillows for Kohan who delivered a two-run single down the right-field line for a 2-0 lead through one. A walk and stolen base by Sandusky gave DC the opportunity to add-on with two away in the second. That set the stage for an RBI knock to left-center off the stick of Kueny to stretch the advantage out to 3-0 with two frames in the books.
Franklin and Marshall got on level terms during the top of third as a single and walk began the inning, before with one out Frankie Testa was safe on an infield single which allowed one to come home. With Hillary Murse in the box Testa broke for second as the DC catcher threw down to trying to catch the runner Claire Sullivan who had reached on a walk raced down the line to cut it down to 3-2. A knock by Brenda Garcia to right drove in the third of the inning to knot the score. The score stayed that way until the sixth when a single from Murse started the inning which chase Kucker from the circle as Kohan entered the game. After Garcia lined out to Laia Gwathmey at second, Kayla Kilmer singled up the middle to score one. Two batters later Devon Witt drove in Kilmer with a base hit to left for a 5-3 advantage through six.
F&M tried to add on to their lead in the seventh when a walk and DC error put two on base with no outs. However, Kohan was they able to settle down and get the next three hitters to retire the side and give the Red and White a chance in the bottom-half. Singles by Lloyd and Blanker kicked off the DC portion, before Hahn walked to fill the cushions for Kohan. She did not face Sheflin as she was relived by Kilmer. Kohan worked a walk to force in one, which then set the stage for a two-run single up the box from Kleeblatt to walk it off for the Devils.

Dickinson (15-9, 5-1 Centennial) returns to non-conference action on Thursday afternoon when they host Alvernia University for a doubleheader beginning at 3pm. The Red and White get back to conference play on Saturday with a doubleheader at Haverford College. First pitch is slated for high noon.
