GRANTHAM, Pa. - The Dickinson men's track and field team braved the sloppy and wet conditions at the Starry Track Complex to earn a eighth-place result at the Messiah University Invite on Saturday afternoon.
Sprints
The 100m dash saw the duo of
Jack Corkum and
AJ Jennings compete for the Red and White posting times of 12.69 and 12.83 respectively.
Liam Coulter was the lone Devil in the 110m hurdles clocking in at 17.91 for 14th.
William O'Connor and
Tyler Erdmann took part during the 200m hitting the line in 23.76 and 27.19.
Cole Boback earned a podium spot for the 400m claiming second with a 50.11, while
Luke Sternick landed in 26th at 53.32. O'Connor (54.28),
James Masterson (54.92),
Shane Coll (57.77), Corkum (59.30), Erdmann (61.02) and
Kelby Bishop-Scioli (61.58) all competed as well.
Distance
Colin Schweitzer finished within the Top-25 of the 800m crossing the stripe in 2:03.87 for 22nd.
Sean Harris landed just outside the Top-25 in 26th with a 2:04.95. Four other DC athletes competed with
Matthew Gareau (2:09.79),
Ethan Katz (2:12.71),
Matthew Foote (2:13.83) and
Max Collins (2:15.21) all posting times.
Schweitzer was solid in the 1500m taking 12th at 4:08.37, while Collins seized 44th in 4:29.10.
Special Events
Charlie Miske grabbed fifth in the decathlon with 5343 points. He finished in the Top-3 of javelin and pole vault, while laying claim to victory in the 1500m run with a time of 4:26.24.
Field
Kieran Santos competed for the Red and White in the high jump finishing in seventh after clearing 1.77m, before falling in 20th during the long jump with a 5.84m leap.Â
Ethan Hart led the way in the 66-competitor shot put field with a mark of 15.83m, while
Matthew Harvey took 13th at 12.92m.
Lamar Ludy came in 32nd after a toss of 11.10m. Hart then claimed second for the discus with a launch of 43.89m. Harvey also fell within the Top-10 posting a 39.36m for eighth. Ludy grabbed 23rd at 34.65m. In the hammer, it would be Harvey as the highest finishing Devil landing at 12th (40.60m), while Hart was outside the Top-20 in 21st with a 36.76m. Ludy hit the ground in 32nd after a mark of 31.43m.
In the javelin,
Hunter Omerzo finished in a two-way tie for 16th posting a distance of 43.62m.
Sa'id Rahim fell in 26th at 39.96m.Â
Team Scores
The host Messiah won the team title with 135 points, joined in the Top-10 by (D2) Pitt-Johnstown (91.50), McDaniel (84), (D2) Frostburg State (79), Lebanon Valley (57), Ursinus (45.50), Stevenson (39), Dickinson (28.50), Gettysburg (27) and Delaware Valley (25).

The Red and White are back at it on Wednesday afternoon at the Shippensburg University Duals beginning at 4pm. .
