COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Dickinson men's tennis team fought hard all afternoon long, but just did not have enough to overcome the host Ursinus College on Sunday falling 6-3 in Centennial Conference action.
Doubles (Bears 2-1)
Dickinson claimed their lone win at the number three spot where
Florian Anderson and
DJ Finnell did just enough to hold off Andrei Bogdan and Noah Mandel 8-7. The second unit of
Thomas Griffin and
Levi Veleanu went "blow-for-blow" with Darby Rogers and Ethan Yu, but did not come out on the right side of a 6-8 decision.
Garrick Adams and
Will Lewis playing at the top slot fell 3-8 to Lars Jespersen and Will Oberholtzer.
Singles (Bears 4-2)
The Devils won their two matches both in tiebreakers. First, at number two Griffin and Oberholtzer traded the first two sets, before Griffin claimed a 7-6 (7-1 tiebreak) win. Anderson playing down at six watch a one set lead fade away, prior to a 12-10 win in a supertiebreaker to secure the win. Veleanu at three won a total of six games against Yu (2-6, 4-6), while Lewis claimed five at four in a 2-6, 3-6 setback to Rogers. The number one Adams fell to Jespersen 3-6, 0-6 and Finnell (5th) dropped a match to Bogdan (0-6, 1-6).

Dickinson (2-7, 0-2 Centennial) is back in action on Tuesday afternoon at 4pm when they head to Allentown to take on Muhlenberg College in conference play.
