Bears Claw Past Devils

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Dickinson men's tennis team fought hard all afternoon long, but just did not have enough to overcome the host Ursinus College on Sunday falling 6-3 in Centennial Conference action.

Doubles (Bears 2-1)
Dickinson claimed their lone win at the number three spot where Florian Anderson and DJ Finnell did just enough to hold off Andrei Bogdan and Noah Mandel 8-7. The second unit of Thomas Griffin and Levi Veleanu went "blow-for-blow" with Darby Rogers and Ethan Yu, but did not come out on the right side of a 6-8 decision. Garrick Adams and Will Lewis playing at the top slot fell 3-8 to Lars Jespersen and Will Oberholtzer.

Singles (Bears 4-2)
The Devils won their two matches both in tiebreakers. First, at number two Griffin and Oberholtzer traded the first two sets, before Griffin claimed a 7-6 (7-1 tiebreak) win. Anderson playing down at six watch a one set lead fade away, prior to a 12-10 win in a supertiebreaker to secure the win. Veleanu at three won a total of six games against Yu (2-6, 4-6), while Lewis claimed five at four in a 2-6, 3-6 setback to Rogers.
