GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The Dickinson men's swimming team was back in action on Friday night at Bullets Pool on the campus of Gettysburg College for a conference meet against the Bullets of Gettysburg College. Unfortunately, for the Red and White despite a solid evening in the pool it was the home side that came away with a 139-64 win.
Dickinson began the day with a win in the 200-yard medley relay as the team of
Jack Engel,
Samson Qu,
Justin Wong and
James Wright clocked in at 1:36.08. The next unit of
Nolan Chenot,
Frederico Colloca-Bianchi,
Andrew Kelley and
Lukas Nier claimed fourth with a 1:40.19, while the last DC group of
Joe Apat,
Damon Buchanan, Matt Ferenz and
Paul Florio hit the wall in 1:46.85 for sixth.
Daulton Kendall finished off the podium for the 200-yard freestyle thanks to a mark of 1:48.01, followed by
Alexander Kanard (5th - 1:49.55),
Aidan Keillor (7th - 1:51.02) and
Benjamin Brandt (8th - 1:54.34).
Four Devils went to battle in the 200-yard individual medley with Wright landing in third thanks to a 2:00.78. Florio and Nier claimed fifth (2:04.16) and sixth (2:06.76) respectively. Chenot got to the wall in 2:11.96 for eighth.
The 50-yard freestyle saw Wong nab third with a 22.42. Engel earned fifth at 22.57, while Kelley and
Jace Pedicone occupied sixth (22.95) and eighth (23.84).
Qu collected the Devils second win by besting the field in the 100-yard butterfly hitting the wall at 51.68, followed by Kelley (5th - 54.69) and Florio (7th - 56.79).
A quartet of Dickinson athletes were involved during the 100-yard freestyle with Kendall securing a third-place finish in 48.50. Engel, Pedicone and Buchanan earned sixth (50.16), seventh (52.03) and eighth (52.24).
A pair of Devils earned podium slots in the next event the 500-yard freestyle led by Kanard in second (4:56.59), followed by Wright (4:58.07). Keillor and Apat occupied fourth (4:58.24) and eighth (5:23.58) respectively.
The team of Chenot, Kendall, Qu and Wong picked up another Top-3 finish for the Red and White during the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:27.61, while the group of Colloca-Bianchi, Ferenz, Kanard and Nier seized third-place thanks to a 1:30.18.
Qu (57.03), Colloca-Bianchi (57.28), Ferenz (58.65) and Brandt (59.66) held down fourth through seventh for the 100-yard backstroke.
Chenot and Wong swam pretty much together during the 100-yard breaststroke taking third and fourth with times of 1:02.95 and 1:02.97. Nier finished sixth at 1:04.61 and Apat claimed seventh (1:07.77).
In the 400-yard freestyle relay the unit of Engel, Kanard, Kendall and Wright finished second with a 3:17.86. Buchanan, Florio, Kelley and Keillor took up fourth at 3:25.12, followed by Apat, Brandt, Ferenz and Pedicone claimed fifth (3:36.87).

Dickinson (3-2, 3-2 Centennial) returns to action next Friday night at 6pm when they head to Elizabethtown College to take on the Blue Jays.Â
