CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson men's tennis team entertained local rival Gettysburg College at the Hays Tennis Courts on Wednesday afternoon in Centennial Conference action. Unfortunately, for the Red and White the Bullets left with a 9-0 victory.
Doubles (Bullets 3-0)
The first two pairs suffered the same fate as
DJ Finnell and
Levi Veleanu (1st) as well as
Eddy Chow and
Will Lewis (2nd) were tripped up by scores of 1-8. The third unit of
Drew Allen and
Florian Anderson fell 0-8 to JP Damare and Mikey Fellman.
Singles (6-0)
The only match to make it beyond two sets was at number four where Allen won the first set 6-2 over Ben O'Connor-Skloot, but then the Bullet evened things with a 1-6 win in the second before taking the super tiebreaker by a margin of 10-6. At the second slot, Finnell pushed Tyler Blanz hard all match dropping the first 3-6, prior to forcing a second set tiebreak at 6-6. However, it would be Contract who took that 4-7. Veleanu (1st) and
Aidan MacIntosh (6th) each took three games off their opponents falling 1-6, 2-6 and 2-6, 1-6 respectively to Fellman and Owen Kutlu. Lewis playing at three was defeated by Alex Kagan 1-6, 1-6 and Michael Zayneh collected a 0-6, 1-6 triumph over Chow in the fifth spot.
The First Serve
Dickinson (8-8, 1-6 Centennial) will wrap-up the regular season on Saturday afternoon by hosting the Fords of Haverford College on Senior Day. First service is slated for 12pm.
