CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson softball team needed bonus softball twice on Sunday afternoon as the went in search of another pair of Centennial Conference victories as they welcomed the Mules of Muhlenberg College to Dickinson Park. The Red and White would secure a 6-5 win in ten innings during game one, before getting tripped up by the same score in game two this time in eight frames.

Inside the Game
Muhlenberg got the scoring started in the first inning as a pair of singles gave them a 1-0 lead, before a double by Skyla Campisi put two in scoring position with one out for Kaya Mahy. She provided an RBI knock up the middle for a 2-0 edge through just a half an inning. Kohan then settled down in the circle for the Red and White as she retired the Mules in order over the ensuing two frames keeping it at 2-0 heading to the last of the third. That was when the home side went to work against Raya Kunes as
Emma Varella,
Jessie Sandusky and
Jane Lloyd picked up three straight singles to load the bags with one gone for
Zoe Kleeblatt. She worked a free pass to score one, before a sacrifice fly by Kohan and RBI knock from
Kaylie Renner made it 3-2 with three in the books.Â
Dickinson continued to hold onto the lead until the top of the sixth as with two out and a runner on first courtesy of an error set the stage for a game-tying double for Mahy to knot things up at 3-3. The Devils attempted to regain the lead in the home-half, but a single for
Erin McMahon was left on the bases. Sandusky was hit by a pitch to begin the seventh and went to second on a wild pitch. Unfortunately, two strikeouts and a flyout forced extras. A stolen base and RBI groundout made it 4-3 Mules entering the home-half, but DC responded with an RBI single from Renner to tie the game. Singles for Brianna Kessler and Lloyd in the ninth plated both "ghost runners" to force the contest to a tenth inning. Kohan gave her team a chance to finally walk things off in the last of frame as she was automatically placed on second and went to third on a groundout. After McMahon worked a walk,
Emma Glosson smoked the game-winning hit to left-center for the 6-5 victory.
Devils Circle Report
Kohan earned the win tossing all ten innings allowing just six hits and five runs (three earned), while fanning three batters.
Game Two (Mules 6, DEVILS 5) (F/8)

Time of Game: 2:21
Pitching Decision: W - Samantha Fehrenbach (1-2) | L -
Kaylie Renner (1-4)
Inside the Game
For the second game in a row Muhlenberg was off and running in the first as a double and single had players at the corners with one gone for Campisi. During her at-bat a double steal resulted in a 1-0 lead. After she grounded out, Mahy came up with an RBI knock down the left-field line for the 2-0 edge. Dickinson had a chance to answer right back as a walk for Lloyd and two-bagger from
Eden Blanker had two in scoring position with one gone, but a popup and groundout stalled the threat. Following a "one-two-three" bottom-half of the second, the Mules used a single and double in the third to grab a 3-0 advantage until the last of the fifth. That was when back-to-back singles by Sandusky and Lloyd gave Blanker the opportunity cut into the deficit which was exactly what she did with a double out to left-center bringing the gap to just one (3-2).Â
The game entered the final frame with Dickinson hoping to either walk it off or force extras, but in order to have the chance they would have to get through the visitors chance. After a leadoff strikeout for Kahn, two singles and double pushed it to 4-2. That ended the day for DC starter McMahon and brought Renner back to the circle for the second straight game. She got Mahy to groundout, unfortunately it allowed the fifth run to score to make the margin three as the Red and White came to bat. A walk to Lloyd and single for Kleeblatt had runners on the corners with one out. Kohan then produced an RBI single to center plating one, before a groundout by Renner moved two into scoring position. McMahon took full advantage of her prime opportunity with a two-run single up the box to knot the score at 5-5. That removed starter Justine Bergara and brought Fehrenbach to the rubber. She picked up the final out with a strikeout of Glosson to force the game to the eighth. With the free runner at second, a groundout moved her to third before Kessler gave MC the lead on a single down the line. Renner would record a groundout and strikeout to retire the side.
Marah Goldman ran for Glosson to open up the last of the frame and went to third on a one-out single off the stick of Sandusky. However, a strikeout of Lloyd and flyout by Blanker retired the side.
Devils Circle Report
McMahon started the game and went 6.1 frames allowing a dozen hits and five runs with five strikeouts and not walking a batter. Renner suffered the loss on 1.2 innings of two-hit, one run relief.Â
