Devils Place Six on All-Conference Team

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Dickinson baseball continued their strong season on Thursday afternoon by having six athletes named to the All-Centennial Conference Team as announced by the league office. The Red and White posted four players (Koll Peichel, Kaden Sigmon, Kenny Tagliareni, Ryan Thomon the First Team which is a program best, while placing one each on Second Team (Joey Sangiuolo) and Honorable Mention (Matt Torres).

First Team
Peichel, a native of Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, was outstanding on the hill for the Red and White during the 2024 campaign making 12 starts over his dozen appearances. On the year, he tossed a team-high 65 innings giving up 70 hits and just 42 runs (32 earned), while striking out a team-high 76 men. His best performance of the season happened on March 14th when he tossed innings of two-hit shutout baseball against UW-Superior, in addition to picking up nine strikeouts.

Sigmon, a native of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina, appeared and started in 39 games for the Devils posting a .361 batting average thanks to 53 hits (15 extra base), including a team-high 12 doubles, while drawing 19 walks and going a perfect 6-for-6 on stolen bases. In the field, he posted a .979 fielding percentage with 45 putouts and two assists. On of his most memorable games of the season came in the opener at Lancaster Bible where he went 3-for-5 with four runs scored to go along with a pair of homers and eight runs batted in. Then later in the season, during a three-game stretch versus Franklin & Marshall and Swarthmore he went 5-for-12 with a double in each game and collecting four RBIs.

Tagliareni, a native of Hopewell Valley, New Jersey, appeared in and started all 40 games for Dickinson this season hitting .329 with 47 hits, 42 runs scored, 28 RBIs and a team-high 16 hit by pitches. In the field the senior held a .950 fielding percentage with 57 putouts and 94 assists. He had seven multi-RBI games, including a season-high five in a road conference win at Gettysburg. Tagliareni ended the year on a four-game hitting streak going 7-for-16 totaling three runs scored, two doubles and a pair of RBIs.

Thompson, a native of East Islip, New York, appearing and starting in 39 games for the Red and White finishing the season with a team-leading .365 average which was good for ninth in the conference. The junior also added 46 hits, 41 runs scored, 37 RBIs and walks as well as being hit by a pitch 12 times. The Devils backstop ended the year with a .979 fielding percentage aided by 298 putouts and 30 helpers, in addition to throwing out 14 would be base stealers good for third in the league. From March 22nd versus TCNJ to April 16th against Gettysburg he embarked on a 13-game hitting streak in which he collected four doubles, one triple and one homer to go along with 17 RBIs and 15 runs scored.

Second Team
Sangiuolo, a native of Fairfield, Connecticut, had another outstanding season in relief for Dickinson on the mound posting a 6-1 record with a team-best ERA of 2.25 which also ranked second in the conference. His six saves were a conference-best, while the senior's 52 innings pitches was good for tenth in the CC and 44 strikeouts had him in 12th. Sangiuolo had nine games where he tossed three-plus frames out of the pen and six outings without allowing a hit. One of his best outings of the campaign came on April 19th against Gettysburg when he went 3.1 shutout innings allowing three hits, while fanning a season-high seven. Over three appearances in the CC Tournament, he went 10.0 innings surrendering five hits and three walks, but did not allow a run and struck out four.

Honorable Mention
Torres, a native of Greenlawn, New York, was strong at second base for the Devils all season starting in all 40 games. He ended the season with a .343 batting average totaling 49 hits, 41 RBIs, 13 hit by pitches and 17 walks, while scoring a team-high 45 runs. He also possessed a .955 fielding percentage thanks to 70 putouts and 77 assists. The junior had 13 multi-RBI games, posting a season-high three five times. Torres went 4-for-5 at the plate twice during the year. First, at Haverford he picked up three RBIs and three runs scored with a home run, while against Muhlenberg he added a double, RBI and a pair of runs scored.
