Sophia Kavulich made a few key saves down the stretch to secure a 1-0 win for the Dickinson women's soccer team in their season opener over Penn State-Harrisburg at Miller Memorial Field on Friday night.
- Both keepers were tested inside the opening five minutes with Serenity Hill being stopped by Kavulich, while Sydney Mulka had the answer for Maddie St. Amand.

- Lauren Ervin, Isra Khan, Brown and Prisco each fired towards Mulka over the final 15 minutes, but were unable to tickle the twine sending the match to the half at 0-0.
- The Red and White finally solved Mulka at the 50:15 mark when Dunkel launched a free-kick into the box after a foul by Kylie Yap which was knocked home by Brown for the 1-0 lead. It was almost 2-0, two minutes later but Ashley McSweeney missed to the left.
- Following a save by Kavulich on Julia Hughes, three consecutive DC corner kicks led to chances from Charlotte Hare, Bridget Merkel and Brown which yielded no results into the 70th.
- The Lions tallied five shots over the ensuing ten minutes, but only tasked Kavulich with making one stop on Pon.
- Dickinson would be the one on the attack over the final eight minutes with Brown and Prisco combining for three shots to kill the game off.
