CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson field hockey team took a 2-0 lead ten minutes into the third period against Catholic University on Saturday afternoon at the Biddle Field Complex. Unfortunately, the visiting Cardinals tallied twice late in the third and one more time in the fourth to escape Carlisle with the 3-2 non-conference win.
- Each team tested the opposing keeper twice within the opening eight minutes of the game as Mickey Bond and Oli Bond were turned away by Taylor Morrow, while at the other end of the pitch Abigail Kearney was up to the task against both Maggie Carson and Erin Liggio.
- The Devils got one more look at the goal late in the period, but Lucy Brown sent the offering wide.
- Morrow was called into action three more times during the first five minutes denying Tess Hake, Mary Rojack and Bond.
- Sophia Pereira had the only attempt for the the Red and White in the frame, unfortunately she missed the target.
- Dickinson made their first shot of the quarter count as Natalie Slusser found Alexandra Hockwitt for the finish past Kearney for the 1-0 lead with just 1:22 gone.
- Two of the next three chances went the way of the visitors, but none of them bothered Morrow.
- In the 40th, the Devils pushed the margin to 2-0 when Hockwitt played provider this time to Megan McClure.
- However, the Cardinals would go to the fourth even at 2-2 with Niki Micciche and Bond besting Morrow.
- The home side had the opening three shots of the period with Carson and Pereira (2) tasking Kearney to make just one stop.
- With 52:38 gone in the contest Catholic collected the go-ahead marker as Lauren Keast setup Bond for the 3-2 edge.
- Dickinson had one final chance to tie the game and force overtime, but Sammi Moonay was shutdown by Kearney.
