YORK, Pa. - The Dickinson men's swimming team made a triumphant return to competitive action on Wednesday night as they toppled both the host York College of Pennsylvania and Hood College inside the York College Natatorium. The Red and White downed the hometown Spartans by a score of 135-70, while galloping past the Blazers 172-26.
The night began with the unit of
Nolan Chenot,
Samson Qu,
James Wright and
Justin Wong winning the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:36.13, followed immediately by
Frederico Colloca-Bianchi,
Jack Engel,
Andrew Kelley and
Henry Lease clocking in at 1:40.86.
Two more Devils got on the podium during the 1000-yard freestyle as
Alexander Kanard grabbed second (10:38.44), while
Benjamin Brandt nabbed third at 10:40.05.
Matthew Ferenz laid claim to fifth thanks to a 10:47.20.
Dickinson seized second through fourth for the 200-yard freestyle with
Daulton Kendall pacing the crew at 1:48.03, followed by
Aidan Keillor (1:50.18) and
Damon Buchanan (1:53.23).
Qu picked up his second win of the night in the 50-yard freestyle as he got to the wall in 21.19. Engel fell just outside the podium at 22.17 for fourth and Lease landed in sixth (22.92).
Wright then grabbed an individual victory during the 200-yard individual medley stopping the timer at 2:01.35.
Paul Florio finished off the podium with a 2:06.36 as
Joe Apat landed one spot behind thanks to a 2:08.07.
Dickinson went first and third for the 200-yard butterfly as Kelley won the event at 2:03.49, while Chenot earned third (2:07.37).
Jace Pedicone finished off the Top-5 with a 2:17.19.
It was another "one-two" DC finish in the 100-yard freestyle with Kendall clocking in at 48.31 for the win, followed by Wong in second (48.77) and Brandt in sixth (53.01).
The 200-yard backstroke saw Wright collect his third win of the meet thanks to his 2:00.73. Colloca-Bianchi and Ferenz earned third (2:05.62) and fourth (2:08.33) respectively.
A trio of Devils went to work for the 500-yard freestyle with Keillor taking second (5:00.85), while teammates Buchanan and Kanard grabbing fourth (5:10.30) and fifth (5:18.71).
It was a complete Red and White podium in the 200-yard breaststroke thanks to Apat (2:18.13), Lease (2:18.46) and Wong (2:19.41).
The night ended with Engel, Kelley, Kendall and Qu winning the 400-yard freestyle relay with a 3:15.10, followed by Chenot, Florio, Kanard and Keillor in third (3:23.73).

Dickinson (6-2, 3-2 Centennial) will hold their one and only home meet of the season on Saturday afternoon at 1pm when they welcome Messiah University to the Clarke Aquatic Center.
