SELINSGROVE, Pa. - For the second consecutive weekend the Dickinson men's indoor track and field team headed to Susquehanna University. This time to compete in the SU Tune-Up as the Red and White get ready for the Centennial Conference Championships which will take place next weekend.
Sprints
Darian Crim got the day started well for the Red and White as he took second in the 60m with a time of 7.03, followed by
William O'Connor in 15th (7.32) and
Ayman Arkoukou at 7.79 for 34th.
A trio of Devils went to work in the 200m with
Tim Gross pacing the group in 27th (25.17), while
Sean Harris and
Benjamin Dench nabbed 31st (25.87) and 32nd (26.02).
Ian Gormley just missed out on the podium for the 400m as his time of 52.12 was good for fourth. Both Dench and Gross earned Top-20 slots claiming 14th (55.24) and 20th (56.44) respectively. Harris (25th - 58.57) and
Max Collins (28th - 59.86) also competed in the event.
Distance
Four members of the Red and White landed inside the Top-20 of the 800m as
Atticus Fair,
Amos Liles,
Evan Feldman and
Matthew Gareau collected seventh (2:00.82), 11th (2:03.44), 14th (2:05.46) and 17th (2:07.06) respectively.
Tyler Erdmann (23rd - 2:10.75), Collins (33rd - 2:16.81),
Jack Solovey (35th - 2:20.77) and
Matthew Colden (36th - 2:20.93) all were involved as well.
Fair rounded out the podium for the mile run as he seized third with a 4:28.36, followed by Erdmann (16th - 4:45.22), Colden (19th - 4:50.64) and Solovey (31st - 5:13.99).
Relays
Dickinson would claim victory during the 4x200m thanks to the team of
Franklyn Akabi-During,
Jason Hollinger, Crim and O'Connor hitting the line in 1:33.11. The 4x400m unit of
Travis Knaggs, Fair, Feldman and Liles crossed the stripe in second thanks to a 3:45.16.
Field
At the jump pit, Feldman dropped in at 11.62m to take ninth in the triple jump, while Arkoukou placed 12th for the long jump with a leap of 5.66m. Â
Special Event
Trevor Richwine headed to State College to compete in the 800m race at the Penn State University Tune-Up. In a field with athletes from all three divisions he showed quite well claiming tenth at 1:52.48.
Next on the Track
The Red Devils return to action next Saturday when they head to Franklin and Marshall College for Day One of the Centennial Conference Championship beginning at 1pm.
