#27 Devils Advance at Nationals with Upset Win Over Cardinals

PHILADELPHIA – The Dickinson men's squash team posted an impressive 8-1 win over the 26th-ranked Cardinals of Wesleyan University on day two of the College Squash Association Team Nationals. The Red Devils came into the tournament as the seventh seed, while the Cardinals were the sixth seed.

Inside the Match
The Red Devils came out firing on all cylinders, winning the first three matches on-court. Junior Joe Smythe took care of business in the top flight, while graduate student Sam Knipp and Junior James Kiracofe claimed the points for the Devils in the sixth and eight flights. All three of those matches were three game victories. In the second wave, first-year Owen Buroker was the lone loss, despite fighting hard but dropping the third flight in four games. Omar Ali alongside Derek Du easily cruised to victories in the second and ninth flights, securing the overall team victory for the Red and White. The final wave of matches saw three victories also, with senior Aidan Ray and first year Will Krizek claiming their first victories of nationals in three games. Finally, first-year Noah George makes it two out of two for the tournament with a three-game win over an awkward to play Crawford.
